Build a clearer savings comparison

Start by writing the decision you are trying to make. You might need a place for money you could require soon, or be comparing products for a stated longer period. A product name or headline return does not tell you whether it meets that need. This guide provides a worksheet method, not a recommendation or a ranked list.

For each option, record the exact product name, issuer, official source link and the date the terms take effect. Check that two similarly named products are actually comparable. Mark anything you have not verified as unknown. Do not fill a missing rate or condition from memory just to complete the table.

Compare access to your money separately from potential payments. Ask about minimum holding requirements, withdrawal timing, early-exit conditions, payment frequency and the practical process for receiving money. These questions belong in different rows; compressing them into one “best return” label hides useful differences.

Use the same time period and amount when comparing numerical examples. Separate published gross amounts from deductions, fees and any net estimate. Keep assumptions visibly labelled, particularly when a payment is uncertain or a rate can change. A historic prize outcome or old rate is not a forecast of what a new holding will produce.

Write a final column called “questions to verify.” Use it for eligibility, current tax treatment, document requirements, withdrawal restrictions and anything else your official sources do not clearly resolve. Ask the issuer or an appropriately qualified adviser before making a decision that depends on those details. This beta does not collect your income, tax records or personal circumstances for comparison.

Revisit the worksheet when the official terms change. Keep the previous source date so you can see which part needs updating. Product-specific rates, tax rules and suitability claims are not supplied by this draft; adding them requires current-source verification and the operator’s editorial review.

Sources to verify current requirements

These are official starting points, not a claim that every current rule has already been reviewed.
